GeologicafTechnics Znc. 2741 Raw Road Modesto,Ca_forma 95351 (209)538 6424/jaX#538-5852 Report ' Additional Site Characterization ' Mard's Property 2969 Loomis Road Stockton, CA September 18, 2000 Project No 770 2 1.0 INTRODUCTION ' This report summarizes soil and groundwater investigative work conducted on August 21 & 22, 2000 Three soil borings were drilled at the site and converted into groundwater monitoring wells Two wells, MW-5 and MW-6, were completed as shallow wells screened across the water table at approximately 60 feet below grade One well, MW-105, was completed with a discretely screened interval at approximately 30 feet below the water table On September 11, 2000, a licensed surveyor surveyed the site to a City of Stockton benchmark elevation Two adjacent site wells were included in the survey ' 20 SCOPE OF INVESTIGATION The San Joaquin County Public Health Services/Environmental Health Department (SJC PHS/EHD) had required that nested wells be placed at locations MW-5 and MW-6 (please see Figure 2) in order to define the vertical and lateral extent of the contamination plume in those areas GTI proposed the following alternative, which was approved by SJC PHS/EHD Monitoring Wells at MW-5 Location ➢ Two soil borings located three feet apart would be installed at the MW-5 location shown in Figure 2 ' ➢ Soil samples will be collected at five-foot intervals ➢ The first boring at the MW-5 location shall be drilled to a depth of 15 feet below the last contamination noted by field methods ➢ If, and only if, contamination extends to a depth of 80 feet, the boring will be completed as a 95 foot deep, discretely screened monitoring well and named MW-105 ➢ The second boring at MW-5 location will be free drilled to a depth of 75 feet and a monitoring well (MW-5) will be installed
