Site Closure Summary <br />' Fuller Mobile Home Park August B, 1997 <br /> 3651_ Louise Avenue, Lathrop, California Page: 3 <br /> r <br /> On June 19, 1996 San Joaquin County PHS/EHD rejected implementation of the <br />' Feasibility Study until said time as the eastern boundary of soil contamination was <br /> identified <br />' In August 1996 WHF reported on the 2nd Quarters Groundwater measurements, gradient <br /> and contamination levels <br />' On October 11, 1996 San Joaquin County PHS/EHD requested a Receptor Survey be <br /> conducted along with numerous other tasks such as Fate and Transport Modeling and <br /> Health Risk Assessments <br /> t 1997 WHF completed a Receptor Survey of a 2 000 foot radius at Fuller <br /> On March 12, p p y , <br /> Mobile Home Park The additional work seemed unjustified and not warranted by the <br />' property owner <br /> On April 9, 1997 WHF in conjunction with HKM Environmental, Inc conducted a <br /> Quarterly Groundwater Morutonng Event <br /> In May 1997 San Joaquin County requested a re-samphng of MW-3 and that the sample <br /> be split Also requested at that time was additional information on the Receptor Survey <br /> 2.D Geology and Hydrology <br /> The subject property is located in Califonua% Central Valley The central valley is <br /> } p p y <br /> approximately 400 miles long and averages 50 miles wide encompassing approximately <br /> 20,000 square miles The valley is a large asymmetric trough that is bounded by granitic, <br /> metamorphic and marine sedimentary rocks of pre-tertiary age This trough has been filled <br />' with as much as 30,000 feet of sediment in the San Joaquin Valley portion to the South, <br /> and as much as 60,000 feet of sediment in the Sacramento Valley portion to the North <br /> The age of the sediments range from Jurassic to Holocene and include both marine and <br /> continental rocks and sedimentary deposits (Olmstead and Davis, 1961) <br /> The continental rocks and deposits of tertiary and quaternary age compose a number of <br /> formations In total they constitute the major aquifer of California's Central Valley and <br /> yield large quantities of water to wells These deposits are heterogeneous mixtures of <br /> poorly sorted clay, silt, sand and gravel In places, some beds of claystone, siltstone and <br /> N sandstone and conglomerate The maximum thickness in these formations has been <br /> reported to be 3,000 feet (Olmstead and Davis, 1961) <br />
