Fuller Mobile Home Par-
365 E Louise Ave., Lathrop, California January 28, 1998
Eastern Soil Contaminatin Boundary and Confirmation Work Plan Page: 3
The cuttings from the drilling operation will be containerized in 55 gallon steel
drums, pending the results of laboratory data.
3.2 Soil Sampling
All soil sampling equipment will be thoroughly cleaned before and between
sampling to prevent cross contamination. Relatively undisturbed soil samples will
be taken at intervals of not more than 5 feet in order to evaluate the subsurface
materials, however, this sampling interval may be waived in saturated sands in
which sample recovery is not possible.
The soil samples will be taken using a hand driven spoon sampler with brass liners.
A laboratory soil sample will be taken at the prescribed depths during the boring of
each well. The laboratory samples will not have head space and will be immediately
4 sealed in their liners using aluminum foil-lined plastic caps. All soil samples will be
L properly labeled with project nametnumber, date and time collected, sample
identification and analysis requested. Samples will be additionally sealed in air-tight
plastic bags before being immediately refrigerated for delivery to the laboratory, and will
under no circumstances be opened by anyone other than laboratory personnel. Chain of
Custody records will be maintained at all tunes.
Soil samples collected for analysis will be analyzed using 8015M/LUFT for total
petroleum hydrocarbons - gasoline, diesel EPA method 8020 for BTX&E and EPA
Method 8260 for oxygenated compounds. The minimum detection limits used for
each analyte will be .005 mg/kg for BTX&E, and 1.0 mg/kg for gasoline and diesel.
Analyses are to be conducted by California Laboratory Service, Inc., a State-
certified laboratory in Rancho Cordova, California.
rp Vv,
Prepared by:
Etr{r&s:June 34,m
'CALsf
W.
