(CCI) on your
behalf and has the following comments.
The report documents the quarterly groundwater monitoring and sampling event that
took place on October 14, 2001. Depth to groundwater levels continue to drop in all of
the site monitoring wells. Again, MW-8 was dry and could not be sampled. Analytical
results from the other 11 wells were consistent with historical trends. The report also
discussed the monthly 8-hour dual-phase extraction events that have been conducted at
the site as an interim remediation.
CCI proposes to prepare a feasibility study to compare permanent remedial options for
this site. PHS/EHD agrees with this proposal. Please prepare a feasibility study that
compares at least two remedial alternatives for their cost effectiveness as well as their
ability to mitigate the contamination at this site. The study should be submitted to
PHS/EHD by January 28, 2002.
If you have any questions or comments please call Lori Duncan at (209)468-0337.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health Division
CA
Lori Duncan, Senior REHS Margaret agorio, Supervising REHS
LOP/Site Mitigation Unit IV LOP/Site Mitigation Unit IV
cc: Marry Hartzell, CVRWQCB
Gary Mulkey, CCI
George Yamashita, c/o Jeffrey Widman
A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services
