KLEINFELDER
SCHEDULE
Kleinfelder could initiate drilling activities within approximately 3 to 5 working days of
receiving written authorization to proceed by the client and the PHS/EHD. Our report of the
temporary monitoring well installation and groundwater sampling will be submitted for client
review within 10 to 15 working days of receiving analytical results. Verbal results can be
provided upon our receipt of the analytical data. The estimated completion time for Tasks 1
through 4 is approximately 3 to 5 weeks from approval by the client and.PHS/EHD.
CLIENT RESPONSIBILITIES AND ASSUMPTIONS
This proposal and the attached cost estimate is based on the following assumptions:
Manteca Unified School District will assist Kleinfelder in obtaining access to the site and
owner authorization for the proposed sampling.
Adequate work space and access will be provided. Kleinfelder will attempt to advance
soil borings and collect samples at the proposed locations. If the drilling equipment
cannot be positioned, alternative drilling locations or sampling methods should be
I
investigated. I
• The borings are to'be drilled with a truck mounted drill rig equipped with hollow stem
i
- _ augers, or sampled using a hand auger and slide.hamnier. If difficult drilling
conditions
are encountered, alternative sampling methods may be necessary.
ti
• Soil and water generated during the drilling and sampling will be the responsibility of the
client. Soil cuttings and steam cleaning water will be left on site. Sampling and analysis
of the contained soil and water may be necessary. prior to disposal. Disposal or
remediation options for the soil and water can'be assessed once analytical results have
been received. Kleinfelder is prepared to assistthe client and to remediate or dispose of
stockpiled soil and water, if requested, at anadditional charge.
Ik This proposal is based on the presumption that Manteca Unified School District will
clearly mark utilities and will provide any and all available survey maps or other data to
I determine the location of tanks, existing structures, underground utilities and services.
A
i
• The client should be aware that penetrating the site's surface is inherently risky. It is
impossible to determine with certainty the precise location of all structures (such as septic
system tanks or leach fields) which may be buried in the ground. Kleinfelder's fee is not
adequate to compensate for both the performance of the services and the assumption of
risk of damage to such structures.
I
! 20-YP8-I61I2018P179 P2-Se A-4
© 1998, Kleinfelder,Inc, June 22, 1998
