KLEINFEL DER
Task 3 -.Sample Collection Handling, and Analyses
During advancement of the soil boring two soil samples will be collected from depths of 7 and
12-feet bsg. One groundwater sample will be collected from the temporary monitoring well. The
groundwater sample will be obtained using a disposable bailer and/or a cleaned stainless steel
bailer. Up to three casing volumes of water will be removed if sufficient water is available,
otherwise a grab sample will be obtained. Water generated from the purge process will be
contained as described in Task 2.
After collection, the soil and groundwater samples will be labeled, logged on a chain-of-custody,
and immediately stored in an iced cooler. The samples will be transported to Kleinfelder's office
and then transported by courier in a sealed container to Sequoia Analytical of Sacramento,
California for chemical analyses. Sequoia is certified by the California Department of Toxic
Substances to perform the requested analyses. At this time, we propose to analyze two soil
samples and one groundwater sample from the single boring. The three samples will be analyzed
for the following analyses:
• Total Extractable Petroleum Hydrocarbons as referenced to Diesel by EPA Method
8015M.
The samples will be analyzed on a normal laboratory schedule requiring approximately two
weeks (ten working days) for completion unless an optional rush analytical turnaround is
requested by the client at an additional charge.
Task 4 - Analysis of Data and Report Preparation
Upon completion of the sampling and our receipt and review of the analytical results, a report
will be prepared for client review. The report will include:
• A description of field activities, observations, and protocols;
• Lithologic logs and, if appropriate, interpreted geologic cross sections;
• Summarized results of sample analysis with copies of certified analytical laboratory
results with chain-of-custody documentation;
• Conclusions and recommendations.
All information gathered during the study by Kleinfelder is considered confidential and will be
released only upon written authorization from the client or as required by law. California law
requires a person to inform the State if a situation is encountered that can be considered an
immediate endangerment to the public's health or welfare and/or to the environment.
20-Y P8-l61/2018P 179 Page A-3
© 1998, Kleinfelder, Inc.
