PHS/EHD has the following
comments for your consideration.
The results of the July 3, 1995 groundwater sampling event indicated detectible
concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbons. Groundwater monitoring should continue on a
quarterly basis.
i
An`estimate of the extent of residual soil contamination was included; however,.PHS/EHD
does not agree with this estimate. Please note that additional contamination was
evidenced which did not appear to have been taken into account during the calculation of
the extent of residual contamination.
Please proceed with the characterization of the excavated soil excavation and currently
stockpiled on site. PHS/EHD agrees with the proposed sampling frequency of one discrete
sample per 50 cubic yards of soil to be lab composited 2:1 .
Please notify Mary Meays at (209) 468-0337 at least two working days prior to the
sampling event, so that an inspection can be scheduled.
Donna Heran, Director REHS
Environmental Health Division
Mary Meays, Senior REHS Diane M.
