Y
i
ESTIMATE OF PRODUCT LOSS i
There is no way to estimate the amount of fuel lost. The
tanks were in service for many years and no records of deliveries
and usage are available. ;
i
I would not expect the total volume to be great since the
tanks were small and the through-put was small.
The lost product is gasoline and probably is a combination
of leaded and unleaded.
L
TOPOGRAPHY
The site is very flat, with an elevation of 145+ feet and }
generally sloping to the easterly direction at a rate of 35 feet
per mile toward the base level of the San Joaquin River drainage
system.
r
GEOLOGY
f
The geology of the region--area is sedimentary in nature, a
combination of fluvial-marine strata consisting of silts and clay
facies with lenses of sand and gravely silts and clays.
SOIL TYPES
Soil to a depth of 18 feet was generally silty-clay with
sands dispersed throughout the silt-clay matrix.
