Limited Site Assessment Work Plan
RANCHOD PROPERTY
18043 South Manthey Road, Lathrop, California
1.0. INTRODUCTION
In accordance with the request ofMr.Ajay Ranchod,Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc. (AGE)has
prepared the enclosed Limited Site Assessment Work Plan for the property located at 18043 South
Manthey Road,Lathrop,California. The location of the site is illustrated on Figure 1 -Location Map.
2.0. BACKGROUND
The site is on South Manthey Road, west of Interstate 5 in a residential/agricultural area of Lathrop,
California(Figure 1). The property is currently unoccupied.
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (SJC EHD) identified the site as a drug
laboratory where hazardous materials were possibly disposed into the septic system.A sample of the
contents of the septic tank was analyzed. The analytical results showed that hazardous materials used
in the manufacturing of illegal drugs were indeed present in the septic tank. On 22 and 23 May 2003
the components of the septic system were uncovered to prepare for pumping of the septic tank and
to positively locate sampling areas of the septic system. On 03 June 2003 the residual water in the
household piping was flushed into the septic tank, then the septic tank was pumped, cleaned, rinsed
and then pumped again by Clean Harbors of San Jose. The Tank contents were transported under a
uniform hazardous waste manifest for disposal at the Clean Harbors facility.
3.0. SCOPE OF WORK
AGE proposes to collect soil samples to determine if petroleum hydrocarbon and/or volatile organic
hydrocarbons-impacted soil is present beneath the site. The preliminary site assessment will include
the following tasks:
• Permitting and pre-field work activities;
• Soil sample collection and analysis; and
• Report preparation.
3.1. PERMITTING AND PRE-FIELD WORK ACTIVITIES
A site assessment boring permit will be obtained from the SJC-EHD for all on-site boring locations.
Advanced GcoEnvi ron mental,Inc.
