November 9, 2005 <br /> NCA Project Number: E05132C <br /> 2) Emergency Treatment. In the event of an emergency, a member of the team will <br /> dial 911 and follow the instructions of the operator. In the event that a non- <br /> emergency injury occurs to any or all of the team, they will be transported to the <br /> nearest hospital that provides emergency room services (Dameron Hospital, 525 <br /> West Acacia Street, Stockton, 209-944-5550). <br /> 3.0 SOIL SAMPLING PROCEDURES <br /> 3.1 Drilling Details <br /> All drilling activities will be performed by NOA. <br /> 3.1.1 Drilling Method <br /> The boring(s) in the vicinity of the adjacent former underground storage tank will be advanced with <br /> a 3- or 4-inch diameter hand auger. The soil cuttings brought to the surface will be examined and <br /> placed on plastic. Disposal will be based on the analytical results. <br /> 3.1.2 Logging Methods <br /> A geologist will log the subsurface soil conditions encountered at each boring. The soil materials <br /> encountered will be logged consistent with the Unified Soils Classification System. Representative <br /> soil samples may be collected and placed into sealed containers for further analysis as necessary. <br /> 3.1.3 Boring Abandonment <br /> All borings will be sealed and abandoned in accordance with EHD requirements. A representative <br /> of the EHD may be present to approve all grouting activities. <br /> 3.2 Soil Sample Collection Method <br /> Surface soil samples for agricultural chemical and fuel constituents will be collected directly into <br /> clean stainless steel tubes or by scooping with a stainless steel trowel into glass containers. If a <br /> trowel is used,it will be decontaminated by washing with a solution of potable water and Liquid- <br /> Nox solution or equivalent prior to collecting each sample. <br /> Soil samples collected from the vicinity of the adjacent former underground storage tank will be <br /> collected with a hand auger equipped with a clean stainless steel sampling tube. If more than one <br /> sample is collected, the hand auger will be decontaminated by washing with a solution of potable <br /> water and Liquid-Nox solution or equivalent prior to collecting each sample. <br /> After collection, the samples will be placed on ice inside an insulated storage chest and transported <br /> promptly under chain-of-custody to the analytical laboratory. <br /> 3 '.444 <br />
