November 9, 2005
NOA Project Number: E05132C
1.0 GENERAL INFORMATION
1.1 Soil Sample Purpose,Location, and Depth
The basic purpose for collecting soil samples is to:
1_) Determine background levels of key constituents in on-site soils.
2.) Identify any impacts to on-site soils which may have occurred as a result of
agricultural chemical and fuel use and storage on the property, including any leakage
from the adjacent former underground storage tank.
One or more samples will be collected from the vicinity of the adjacent former underground storage
tank, as indicated on the attached site map. These samples will be collected at a depth of five to ten
feet below ground surface (bgs).
For the investigation into surficial impacts from agricultural chemical and fuel use and storage,
sample locations will be selected in the field and will be dependant on surficial staining and field
conditions observed at the time of sample collection. These samples will be collected at the surface,
zero to six inches bgs.
1.2 Access Agreement
Prior to performing work for this investigation,NOA will obtain a written access agreement from
the owner of the Site. The agreement will be executed between NOA and the owner and will allow
NOA access for on-site activities required for this investigation.
2.0 HEALTH AND SAFETY PLAN
We anticipate that the health hazards that will be encountered at the Site will be minimal. Based on
our understanding of the past disposal practices at the Site,we do not expect to encounter any liquid
or solid waste materials not any liquid or solid hazardous waste materials at the proposed drilling
locations. However,if waste materials are encountered,we anticipate that the primary mode of
contaminant exposure will be through the skin as a result of handling equipment, soil, and water.
Therefore,we have prepared the following Health and Safety Plan:
1) Level D Protection. We propose that all field activities be conducted consistent with
Level D protection requirements as defined by the California Occupational Safety
and Health Administration (OSHA). The minimal required Level D protection
equipment includes hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toed boots, earplugs, disposable
rubber gloves, and appropriate work clothing.
2 "004
