i
382 feet deep, with casing seals below 100 feet, There are
monitoring wells located at 470 No. Main Street, (Beacon Oil
00, 1) and 14 located on and adjacent to the currently active
p>`oject at Manteca Dean, (229 Moffat Blvd; refer to Plate VIII
for a larger scale map indicating the location of those wells. )
According to the Manteca City Engineering office, there are no
known domestic wells in the vicinity of this site.
DEPTH TO GROUNDWATER: According to the latest map issued by the i
San Joaquin County Flood Control and Water Conservation District, It'-to/(Plate IX) the depth to groundwater in the Fall of 1989 in the O'
vicinity of this site was about 15' MSL, or about 22 feet below
46
ground level. This is supported by water level neasurements f
taken in March of 1990 in the monitoring wells associated with P
the Manteca Bea'
n groundwater investigation; (refer to Plate k)
LOCATION OF REMOVED TANKS; refer to Plate III for locations of
Goth the 550 gallon and 2,000 gallon fuel tanks that were removed
from this property.
TANK USAGE: The 550 gallon tank had been used for storage of
regular leaded gasoline. No evidence of leaking was noted when 2
O
that tank was . pulled, and laboratory results of soil samples
showed non-detectable limits for BTX&E, EDB, .TEPH-G, and organic
lead; (refer to Table 1. ) The 21000 gallon tank had been Used for .
storing diesel fuel , but according to the trustee for the estate,
had not been used for over 5 years. Available records indicate s
' the tank was empty at the time it was pulled.
3 ESTIMATED AMOUNT OF LEAKAGE: As stated in previous reports, there
are no records of fuel usage or possible leakage from this tank.
However, based upon the very small am,3unt of contamination found
r when the tank was removed, and during sub=_equent re-excavation,
:t the total amount must have been .qui F.V small.
SUMMARY OF WORK PERFORMED TO DATE: j
November 9, 1968 - Thorpe Oil Co. removed an empty 2,000 gallon
UST which had contained diesel fuel. As required by San Joaquin
Co. regulations, two sidewall (2) soil samples were taken from
each end of the excavated area, 10' below ground surface. The
samples were collected and transferred under- Chain of Custody,
and analyzed for BTX&E, EDB, TPN--D, and organic lead by Canonie
-- ------laboratories. The spoil---was-returned-to-the-hole,----
and the-void _ -
— -----
occupied by the tank was filled with clean dint.
-
November 22„ 1988.- Laboratory report from Cannnie Labs showed
r the sample taken from the east end of the excavaU n, 1-East, was
below detection limits for all constituents tested iaxcept TV?H,
x:
rQ'
.r .
