VAX,
3
t
closest to 260 S. Main, MW-10 & MW-14, showed concentrations of
BTX&E and TPH-G below detection limits, (refer to Exhibit I) Soil
vapor tests in the same area, (Exhibits J & k:) indicated a zero
line north of the subject property. Soil analyses during the
drilling of the bore holes/monitoring wells showed no detectable
concentrations of tested components in monitoring walls #9 thru
014, (Exhibit L. ) Possible contamination from the
jet fuel line
which parallels the railroad tracks just north of Modesto Dry
Ice, was also investigated, with negative rasults.
Item 7 states the depth to groundwater- i;: this area has been
treasured from 20 to 30 feet below the surface, (which has been
verified by monitoring wells,) and that analysis of soil samples
taken during the first re-excavation indicated it to be
Y contaminated. "Therefore, due to the proximity of groundwater, a
groundwater investigation should be performed. "
First of all , the last soil sample taken on Sept. IS1989
tested clean, indicating that all residual contamination has been
f removed. Item b of the SJCPHS letter of November 7., 1989,
referenced earlier, states -". .an immediate source removal has
taken place. and residual soil contamination appears to be
absent. .."
As shown an Plate IX, and supported by work done at 229 Moffat
Blvd. , (Exhibit H,) the groundwater gradient is in a northerly
direction, contamination present at site #23:3-1 would be
de e n the moniestin wells -o 1F_ port y own radient fr m
Modesto d ce. a last known usa.;-j c+f the removed 2,000 UST
was 5 or 6 years agcy.
