Main Street, Manteca, CA <br /> i <br /> 3. A. Groundwater depth: The groundwater depth in that area is 20 to 25 feet. <br /> B. Soil removed : The soil removed was returned to the hole as no <br /> smell or discoloration was noted upon tank removal. <br /> C. Excavation history: <br /> On November 9, 1988, Jim Thorpe Oil, Inc. removed one 2,000 gallon <br /> underground regular gasoline fuel tank. Two soil samples were taken, <br /> one from the east end of the excavation and one from the west end at <br /> a depth of ten feet. Please see enclosed soil sample results from <br /> Canonie Environmental, Laboratory Report numbers 85-052•-5551 and <br /> 85-052-5586, both dated November 22, 1988, marked "B" and "C". The <br /> sample from the east end showed "None Detected" for all petroleum <br /> constituants. However, the sample from the west end showed 77. mg/kg <br /> for Total Extractable Petroleum Hydrocarbons and "None Detected" on <br /> all other petroleum constituants. <br /> 4. A. Laboratory that collected the soil samples was Canonie Environmental, <br /> 212 Frank West Circle, Suite A, Stockton, CA 95206, (209) 983-1340, <br /> by brass tube from the teeth of the hoe bucket. A copy of a signed <br /> "Release of Information Authorization"is enclosed. <br /> r� <br /> 5. A. Re-excavation and resample steps: <br /> On August 1, 1989, Jim Thorpe Oil, Inc. re-excavated the west end of <br /> the original excavation with a backhoe to a depth of 14 feet. See <br /> -- drawings marked 1" and "2". The hole was approximately eight feet <br /> wide by eight feet long, equaling 64 square feet. The original sample, <br /> at the time of tank removal , was taken at a depth of ten feet. Four <br /> sidewall samples were collected at this ten foot depth and one bottom <br /> { sample from 14 feet.
