June 16, 1997 <br /> Page 2 <br /> contained supreme, mid, and regular fuel grades These product facilities were removed <br /> in September 1995 <br /> The product facilities recently installed at the site include three double-walled <br /> fiberglass 12,000-gallon gasoline tanks, one 250-gallon above ground used oil tank, and <br /> two product islands (Figure 2) <br /> Area Business and Property Survey <br /> PACIFIC contracted with VISTA Information Solutions, Inc , (VISTA) for a search of <br /> nearby properties that may have site impact potential (VISTA, April 24, 1997) A copy <br /> of the VISTA map showing all listed sites located in the vicinity of the project site is <br /> included as Attachment B The nearest UST and leaking underground storage tank <br /> (LUST) site is the Kinser Shell Mini Mart located at 341 East Main Street, adjacent to <br /> the project site As shown on the attached VISTA report, four USTs (three gasoline, <br /> one used oil), are Iocated at Kinser Shell Mini Mart Additionally, two other UST and <br /> LUST properties were identified,Nestle Company Inc (0 9-miles west of the site, <br /> crossgradient) and Cal-Pacific Food Sales (0 11-miles east of the site, crossgradient) <br /> Well Survey <br /> .� PACIFIC conducted a records search at the California Department of Water Resources <br /> (DWR) in Sacramento, California(Attachment C), and identified a total of 39 wells <br /> located within a 112-mile radius of the site 4f these wells, the reported number and <br /> uses are 22 wells (groundwater monitoring), S wells (domestic), 3 wells (industrial), 2 <br /> wells (irrigation),2 wells (municipal), and 2 wells (reported with an unknown purpose) <br /> The nearest wells to the project site include 18 monitoring wells, of which 16 <br /> monitoring wells are located at the Nestles' Ripon Corporation, Inc facility directly <br /> west (crossgradient) of the site across Highway 99 The two remaining monitoring <br /> wells are located at 230 Industrial Avenue approximately 0 2-miles southwest <br /> (downgradient) from the site The nearest known murucipal well is located 0 4-miles <br /> northeast(upgradient) from the site The location of the closest domestic well <br /> downgradient to the site within the 1/2 mile radius of D WR records could not be <br /> determined given the insufficient information from the records <br /> Subsurface Conditions <br /> Soils beneath the site consisted primarily of silts Sand and silty sand interbeds were <br /> reported during previous investigation, and ranged in thickness from less than one foot <br /> to eight feet A poorly sorted sand was encountered beneath the silt unit at <br /> approximately 30 feet below ground surface (bgs) In the boring for Well MW-1, a clay <br /> was encountered from approximately 36-1/2 feet bgs to the total depth explored of 40 <br /> •; feet bgs Boring logs are presented as Attachment D <br /> 920I026A/CLOSERPT <br />
