Working To Restore Nature <br /> i <br /> 3164 Gold Camp Drive <br /> Rancho Cordova, CA 95670 <br /> Phone (916)852-6690 <br /> Fax (916) 852-6688 <br /> September 28, 1992 <br /> Mr Kenneth R Earnest <br /> UItramar Inc <br /> 525 West Third Street <br /> Hanford, California 93230 <br /> Subject Ground-Water Sampling, July 1992, at Beacon Service Station No 492, 470 <br /> North Main Street, Manteca, California <br /> Mr Earnest <br /> This report presents the results of the second quarter 1992 ground-water sampling that <br /> RESNA Industries (RESNA) conducted at the request of Ultramar Inc at the subject site <br /> (see the Site Vicinity Map, Plate 1) The purpose of this sampling program is to monitor <br /> the concentrations of hydrocarbons in ground water at the site Work included measuring <br /> depths to water, sampling ground water for subjective and laboratory analyses of <br /> hydrocarbons, and evaluating the ground-water gradient beneath the site The locations of <br /> the monitoring wells are shown on the Generalized Site Plan, Plate 2 <br /> Present Ground-Water Sam lin <br /> On July 13, 1992, a technician from RESNA conducted the second quarter 1992 monitoring <br /> event at the site following methods summarized in an attachment to this letter report <br /> Depth-to-water levels were measured in each of the the monitoring wells (see Table 1) <br /> RESNA then collected ground-water samples from each monitoring well and examined the <br /> samples for floating product, sheen, and other subjective evidence of hydrocarbons No <br /> subjective evidence of hydrocarbons was observed in any of the samples collected from the <br /> monitoring wells (see Table 2) Water was purged from the wells and was placed in 55- <br /> gallon drums approved for this use by the Department of Transportation and stored <br /> temporarily at the site pending removal by Ultramar Inc The technician then collected <br /> ground-water samples from each monitoring well for laboratory analyses <br /> � <br /> 86102-8 <br />
