1
A AJCWAA
Working To Restore Nature
September 28, 1992
1 Beacon Station No 492, Manteca, California
The ground-water samples were analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline
(TPHg) and diesel (TPHd) using Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Methods 5030
1 and 8015 and benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and total xylene isomers (BTEX) using EPA
Methods 5030 and 602 These samples were also analyzed for total lead and Ethylene
Dibromide using EPA Methods 239 2 and 601. The samples were analyzed at RESNA
Environmental Laboratories in Fremont, California (Hazardous Waste Testing Laboratory
No 1211) The results of these and previous analyses are summarized in Table 3 Results
indicated none of the analytes tested for in the ground-water samples were detected
1
4n July 13, 1992,a technician from RESNA measured the depths-to-water in the four onsite
wells (Table 4) The water levels and wellhead elevations were used to evaluate the ground-
water gradient The ground-water flow direction on July 13, 1992, was interpreted to be to
the northeast with a gradient of approximately 0 0005 The depth to ground water increased
by approximately 2 feet since the previous sampling event, depths to ground water beneath
the site ranged from 25 71 to 27 11 feet below surface grade
Work in Pro ress
At the request of Ultramar Inc , we are currently scheduling to drill 2 soil borings around
the tank cavity and one angle boring beneath the tank cavity and collect soil samples for
analyses to assess whether hydrocarbons in soil have diminished in concentration due to
vapor extraction
0731kear
86102-8 2
