Main Street
Stockton, CA 95212
The San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD) has been conducting an
investigation initiated by a referred complaint received from Central Valley Regional Water
Quality Control Board (CVRWQCB) on August 19, 2013. An investigation report dated August
22, 2013 was sent to the complainant that included the results from a site inspection conducted
by EHD and CVRWQCB representatives, chemical analyses of onsite water samples, and an
evaluation of the data. The EHD has since received additional forwarded complaint from
government agencies dated October 29, 2014 and November 4, 2014 related to health
concerns purportedly associated with this site. Due to the nature of the complaint and
requested by CVRWQCB and State Water Regional Control Board, EHD will investigate and
evaluate this site further to determine if the cause of the complaint is related to the soil vapor
extraction and ozone injection remediation currently operating at this site and to report our
findings. Although the site currently meets the requirement for direct contact and outdoor air
exposure conditions under the Low-threat Underground Storage Tank Case Closure Policy, the
EHD will require soil gas sampling at the house foundation of the adjacent property. Submit a
work plan outlining the proposed areas of soil gas sample by December 31, 2014.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Angelica Sandoval Marin at (209) 468-
2807 or by e-mail at amarin@sjcehd.com.
Sincerely,
Angelica S.
