Main Street
Stockton, CA 952120
Subject: Jamar Service
4075 E. Main Street
Stockton, CA 95212
The San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD) has reviewed Work Plan
For Additional Site Assessment Activities (WP), dated 04 November 2014, prepared and
submitted by your consulting firm, Cardno ATC Consulting Services Inc. (ATC), on your
behalf for the above-referenced site. The EHD had directed the submittal of a work plan for
further assessment by letter dated 21 July 2014.
In the WP, ATC has proposed the following:
Obtaining the required permits from the EHD for the proposed deep borings and any
subsequent monitoring wells, encroachment permits from the City of Stockton, and
access agreements with private property owners for proposed borings to be advanced
off-site.
Drilling and collecting soil samples for laboratory analysis by advancing three off-site
deep soil borings. The borings will be advanced to an estimated depth of 105 feet
below surface grade (bsg), using a direct push cone penetrating test (CPT) rig,
analyzing the soil behavior from five feet bsg to the total depth achieved. Groundwater
samples are to be collected from boreholes advanced adjacent to the CPT borings
using a modified hydropunch sampler.
Analysis of groundwater samples for the following constituents: total petroleum
hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPH-g) by EPA Method 8015, benzene, toluene,
ethylbenzene and total xylenes (BTEX), and fuel oxygenates by EPA Method 8260B.
Installation of up to nine groundwater monitoring wells with completions in the A, B or
C water bearing zones to delineate the lateral and vertical extent of dissolved-phased
petroleum hydrocarbons. Installation of the groundwater monitoring wells is dependent
on the results of grab groundwater sample analyses obtained. All analytical data will
be submitted to the EHD and reviewed to determine if installation of groundwater
monitor wells are justified and necessary.
Obtaining the required EHD permits and encroachment permits and/or access
agreements for all approved off-site monitoring wells.
