i
SECOND QUARTER 2003
GROUNDWATER MONITORING REPORT
AND ADDITIONAL ASSESSMENT REPORT
JAMAR OIL DISTRIBUTION
JUNE 2003
Groundwater Monitoring
• Locate and measure depths to groundwater in wells MW-1 through MW-5, EW-1,
MW-6A, MW-6B, MW-7A, and MW-7B.
• Purge a minimum of three equivalent well volumes of groundwater from each of the
wells, and monitor pH, temperature and conductivity.
• Collect groundwater samples from all the wells.
• Analyze groundwater samples for total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPH G),
total petroleum hydrocarbons as diesel (TPH D); benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and
total xylenes (BTEX}; 1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCA), ethyl dibromide(EDB), and the
fuel oxygenates MTBE, TBA, DIPE, ETBE and TAME using EPA Methods 8015
Modified and 8260B, respectively.
• Prepare this QMRIAAR for submittal to Jamar and the appropriate regulatory agencies.
Aquifer Perfomance Testing
• Measure depth to water(DTW)in all onsite monitoring wells.
• Perform slug tests on monitoring wells MW-1,MW4 and extraction well EW-1.
• Perform pump tests on extraction well EW-1 at 0.5 gallons per minute (gpm), 1.0 gpm,
2.0 gpm, 3.0 gpm, and 5.0 gpm
• Allow extraction well EW-1 to recover to initial DTW after each pump test.
• Collect groundwater samples from EW-1 prior to, at the completion of, and the day
after the APT.
EXTRACTION WELL INSTALLATION
On May 19, 2003, extraction well EW-1 was installed in the southeastern portion of the site,
between monitoring wells MW-1 and MW4 as shown on Figure 2. EW-1 was drilled to 74 feet
below ground surface(bgs), using a CME-75 hollow stem auger drilling rig. EW-1 was screened
from 54-feet bgs to 74-feet bgs.
4
