C)
s -
if the groundwater in the aquifer is contaminated then the soil
in the aquifer will be contaminated from the contaminated water.
Based on prior work, the calculated gradient varies but is
generally south easterly.
The properties in the area within a 2,000 foot radius surrounding
the subject site are all reported to be on city water.
PROPOSED WORK
The proposed workplan for this quarterly monitoring will require
seven tasks identified below. The workplan can be completed
three weeks after SCSAMS has approved the workplan.
Prior to any work being performed, JPCA will coordinate the work
with SJCEHD with a 48 hour notice.
I
Task 2
JPCA will measure the groundwater depth in the five monitoring
wells with an electronic probe prior to purging. A site plan is
1 shown in Figure 2.
` ` Task 3
The five monitoring wells will be purged prior to the collection
of .groundwater samples and the collected purged groundwater will
be put in 55-gallon drums labeled awaiting analysis.
Task 4
One groundwater sample will be collected from each monitoring
well, after the wells are purged and allowed to recharge. A
clean dedicated bailer will be_ ,used to obtain the samples, then
the samples will be placed 'in four 40-ml VOAs with Teflon septa
and a one liter glass jar, labeled, held in a cooled (4 Degrees
C) ice chest and transported to a State Certified Laboratory,
under Chain of Custody (COC) documentation, for analyses. A
maximum of 5 groundwater samples is anticipated to be collected.
Task 5
The groundwater samples collected will be analyzed for Total
Petroleum Hydrocarbons as Diesel (TPHD) , Total Petroleum
Hydrocarbons as Gasoline (TPHG) via EPA protocol 8015 Modified,
Benzene, Toluene, Ethylbenzene and Xylene (BTEX) via EPA protocol
8020 : Oxygenates [DIPS, ETBE, MTBE, TAME, tert-Butanol and 1,2
- 2
