i
Former Beacon Station No.12 474 7/25/2002
Stockton,California Additional Deleniation Work Plan
Additional Delineation Scope
Task 1 Obtain permits from SJEHD, prepare a site-specific safety plan, notify
Underground Service Alert (USA) and schedule contractors.
i
Task 2 Locate and evaluate the status of domestic wells reported approximately 400
and 600 feet from the site.
I
i
i
Task 3 Perform cone penotrometer testing -RCPT) at one location (CPT1) at the site.
This CPT work will be to log the soil type from four to five feet below surface
grade (bsg) to the total depth of additional work estimated to be approximately
130 feet bsg. The CPT location is outside of the highest levels of known
groundwater impact. Upon completion of the CPT logging the test hole will be
backfilled to the surface. This log will be used to verify deep soil type and
i
groundwater zones.
i
Task 4 Collect depth discrete groundwater samples utilizing a CPT rig and a
hydropunch sampling tool. These groundwater samples will be collected at a
maximum depth of approximately 130 fees bsg at four locations (1, 2, 3A,13,
i
4A,B) depicted on Figure 2. In addition, two of the locations (3A and 4A) will
i
have groundwater samples collected at an intermediate depth of approximately
i
100 feet bsg in addition to the 130 feet sample. The CPT operates by pushing
1.75 inch diameter hollow rods to. the desired sampling depth and then
retracting the rods to expose the screened sampling tool. The groundwater
sample will then be collected from this depth. These locations have been
selected to evaluate hydrocarbons in groundwater below the screened interval
of nearby monitoring wells vertically and laterally. After sample collection, the
CPT holes will be grouted to the surface.
C:\Projects\1474\13\1474-13.wp.doc
1474-13.w 3 HORIZON ENVIRONMENTAL INC.
P
