Beacon Station No, 474 December 23, 1997 t 1 A4: rf ce nvigation Repo methanol, ethanol, tertiary butanol, MTBE, di-isopropyl ether (DIPE ), ethyl tertiary butyl ' ether (ETBE), and tertiary amyl methyl ether (TAME) by EPA Method 8260. Soil samples collected from the stockpiled drill cuttings were analyzed for TPHg, BTEX and MTBE by modified EPA Methods 801518020. ' Analytical results of soil samples submitted from the soil borings detected the following concentrations in parts per million (ppm): ' • Boring B-5 between 30 and 65 feet bsg (total depth of the boring) indicated TPHg (to 6,600 ppm), BTEX (benzene to 86 ppm, toluene to 420 ppm, ethylbenzene to 120 ppm, ' and xylenes to 730 ppm). • Boring B-6 at 25 feet bsg indicated TPHg (350 ppm), and between 25 and 65 feet bsg (total depth of the boring) BTEX (benzene to 0.20 ppm, toluene to 0.41 ppm, ethylbenzene to 3.3 ppm, and xylenes to 18 ppm). • Boring MW-6 between 60 to 65 feet bsg indicated TPHg (69 and 120PP m), and between 40 and 65 feet bsg (total depth of the boring) indicated BTEX (benzene to 1.0 ppm, toluene to 2.8 ppm, ethylbenzene to 1.6 ppm, and xylenes to 1 Qm PP .) • Borings MW-7, MW-8, MW-9, and the stockpiled cuttings indicated below the laboratory detection levels for all tested compounds. ' • The soil samples with the highest OVM reading from each boring that were analyzed by EPA Method 8260 for methanol, ethanol, tertiary butanol, MTBE, DIPE, ETBE, and ' TAME were all below laboratory detection levels. ' The results of the laboratory soil analyses are summarized as Table I. Laboratory analytical data and COC reports are included in Appendix G. 1 Groundwater Samplgs Groundwater samples on September 30 and October l; 1997 from monitorin --- g ±- wells MW-6 through MW-9 by Horizon and submitted to Kiff under COC.
