Main Street
Manteca
Dear Sir:
Enclosed is a copy of recent correspondence we received from your Director of Preventive Maintenance and
Construction. Also enclosed are copies of our October 9, 1990 and January 25, 1991 correspondence with
your company, and the July 6, 1988 letter from the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board
(CVRWQCB).
As indicated in this correspondence, it is the opinion of our staff and the CVRWQCB that additional
assessment and monitoring is required at this site before a "closure" certification can be granted.
It is certainly our desire, as well as yours, that this site be closed if in fact all contamination has been
remediated. However, as I am sure you are well aware, that determination must be based on established
criteria and proper documentation. The submission of.incomplete and inadequate reports only serves to
prolong the evaluation process and increase the cost to the Customer Company.
If you have any questions regarding this matter, please contact Eleanor Ratliff, RENS, of my staff at
(209)468-3454 or myself at (209)468-3450.
Jogi Khanna, M.D., M.P.H.
Health Offi ,
urie 6 A.
