The remediation activities were not performed,we do
not plan to perform them, and we request that the permit be terminated.
Data available from 14 quarters of groundwater monitoring indicate that there has been very little
plume migration, values of the contaminants are stable or decreasing, and there is bacteriological
degradation of the contaminants. We discussed the need to conduct any active remediation at the
site with Diane Hinson of San Joaquin County in June 1995, and we concurred that there wasn't
a need based on the data that has been gathered. We have worked closely with the Local
Oversight Program staff of San Joaquin County, and have submitted an addendum to the i
Remedial Action Plan to them that outlines the basis for our decision to continue with passive
bioremediation.
We will continue to conduct groundwater monitoring semiannually in 1996 to confirm that the
plume in not migrating and that natural attenuation continues to occur.
If you have any questions, feel free to call me at 510/287-1627.
C THIA C.
