' One split
sample will be collected for every ten samples collected and submitted to an outside
laboratory to provide a check on the analytical procedures. Because of the volatility
of the analytes, the samples will not actually be split, but duplicated instead. The
split samples will be submitted for the same suite of analyses as the other samples to
a State certified laboratory subcontracted by the District. One duplicate soil sample
will be collected and submitted to the District laboratory for the same suite of
analyses as the other samples. The duplicate sample will be collected, and handled in
the same manner as the other samples. In addition, a trip blank, consisting of three
40 milliliter (ml) vials, will be provided by the laboratory and packaged with the
sample shipment. The trip blank will serve as a check on shipping procedures, and
will be submitted for BTEX analyses.
B.
