EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
{
EXCAVATION OF HYDROCARBON IMPACTED SOIL
Mindts Place (Formerly Delta Pub)
13430 N. Lower Sacramento Road
Lodi, CA
Three underground storage tanks (UST's) were removed from the property in 1988. The tanks
were used to store gasoline. Soil samples were collected from the tank excavation after the tanks
were removed.
Petroleum Hydrocarbons were detected in soil samples near the south end of the existing store.
I San Joaquin County Public Health Services Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD) is
requiring further investigation of the site to determine the vertical and horizontal extent of
petroleum hydrocarbon impact.
The former UST area will be re-excavated to remove any remaining impacted soil to a depth not
less than 15 feet. The total area may include the removal of greater than 300 cubic yards of soil.
The excavation will be performed utilizing a backhoe with soil samples being collected from both
the sidewalls and bottom of the excavation.
The soil removed will be stockpiled adjacent to the excavation, stored on plastic and is to remain
covered until laboratory analysis has been completed on composite samples from these stockpiles.
The soil will be treated on-site or transported and disposed of at an appropriate landfill facility.
For more information, please contact Mr. Ron Rowe of PHS/EHD (209) 468-0342.
i .
i
