ENVIROSEARCH
GENERAL HEALTH & SAFETY PROGRAM
SUMMARY
The following plan is EnviroSearch General Health and Safety Program. This program will
be adhered to by EnviroSearch personnel at all times.
The Health and Safety Program will be employed while EnviroSearch performs such
environmental services as environmental engineering, hazardous waste management services,
mobile on-site treatment and reduction services, subsurface and surface groundwater
treatments, and research and development services.
In addition, all EnviroSearch services will be performed in conjunction with the utilization
of the most current equipment and methodology that today's technology has to offer, and
will be overseen by professionals and specialized technicians who are under the direction
and guidance of diversified, experienced, and innovative supervisory personnel.
EnviroSearch's Health and Safety Program is designed to keep all its operations in
compliance with pertinent local, state and federal regulations which govern safe conduct and
prevention of incidents that could be harmful to life forms, property or other portions of
the environment.
All sections of this manual are subject to revision as new legislation and levels of awareness
materialize. Below is a brief synopsis of what EnviroSearch's Health and Safety Program
consists of.
Agencies, Clinics and General Support Locations and Telephone Numbers:
Prior to the commencement of any project, a thorough reference document will be made
available to all personnel on site and in administrative support areas. The document will
reflect telephone numbers, locations and key contact names for all pertinent agencies,
including the local fire and police department(s), health department(s), air and water quality
boards, hospitals and clinics, etc. One or more of the referenced support groups will be
contacted for assistance in the event of an emergency situation requiring outside support
and jurisdiction. The actual reference document is considered to be a part of this Health
and Safety Program and will continually be revised as telephone numbers, locations and
contact names are changed, eliminated or added to the roster.
Hazard and Risk Reduction:
This section consists of a glossary for defining potential hazards and related risk reduction
alternatives and practices. It is a EnviroSearch requirement for all personnel to become
thoroughly familiarized with the terms and concepts outlined in this section so that the
entire Health and Safety Plan can be adequately understood and efficiently practiced.
Definitions will cover numerous technical terms and conditions, as well as hazard, hazardous
materials, and hazardous wastes, including those found at the work place and environment
and those generated from industries. Hazards will be classified by physical property and
by chemical characteristics. Explanations will be provided for how toxic materials enter the
ecosystem, how hazards are detected, and which legal controls are currently in effect.
Medical Surveillance Program:
Of primary concern to as its medical monitoring program for active employees. This
program encompasses all recordation and maintenance of employee physicals, test results,
physician opinions, medical histories, entrance and exit conditions (to not only cover
