On September 30, 2008, the EHD had a phone conversation with
Stantec about use of batch extraction on monitoring wells MW9 S/I/D as an interim remediation
action and agreed with the proposal since batch extraction had initially been performed on the
on-site wells and appeared successful. A plan for batch extraction has not been submitted to
the EHD to date. A plan for batch extraction should be submitted to the EHD within 30 days of
the date of this letter.
The Report recommendations also state that installation of the additional wells to delineate the
downgradient extent of MTBE is pending access agreement with the off-site property owners.
Please provide the EHD with copies of correspondence between ConocoPhillips and the off-site
property owners so that the EHD can be of assistance in this matter.
There has been no detection of TBA, Ethanol, EDB, 1,2-DCA, DIPE, ETBE or TAME in the
water samples from the groundwater monitoring wells for this site since January 2006. Analysis
for these chemicals can be discontinued.
If you have any questions contact me at (209) 468-3449.
Margaret agorio, REHS
Program Coordinator
cc: Lee Ignatowicz, Stantec, 3017 Kilgore Road, Ste 100, Rancho Cordova, CA 95670
James Barton, CVRWQCB
Darrell Eppler, 2701 W.
