The drilled and installed
depth of this well, as indicated on the boring logs, was 25 feet below ground surface.
On February 13, 2008, SECOR's technician went to the site to investigate depth to bottom
discrepancies in well MW-3 and reached a total depth of 24.77 feet below ground surface
using a depth to water meter. The depth to water was 5.39 feet. SECOR's technician also
inserted clean 0.75-inch diameter PVC casing and probed inside of well MW-3 to search
for obstructions or sediment. None were detected near depths of 8 to 11 feet. Then
SECOR's technician assembled 25 feet of clean 0.75-inch diameter PVC casing, and
probed inside of the well MW-3 for obstructions to the total depth of approximately 25 feet.
No obstructions or sedimentation were detected.
On February 13, 2008, SECOR contacted TRC via email and requested that TRC
investigate this issue, and the possibility that TRC had been monitoring a nearby tank pit
well instead of MW-3. On February 14, 2008, SECOR received an email from TRC stating
that it did seem feasible that they could have monitored the wrong well.
