�� KI F I N F F I IFR <br /> lead 12 mg/kg 750 mg/kg <br /> Zinc 400 mg/kg 160,000 mg/kg <br /> The attached table details the results of the laboratory analysis conducted on the soil samples <br /> collected at the site and sludge samples collected from the tank. The certified laboratory results <br /> are also attached. <br /> DISPOSITION OF SLUDGE AND FORMER SEPTIC TANK <br /> The contents of the tank contents (sludge and water) was containerized on site pending the final <br /> laboratory analysis. The contents were chlorinated with chlorine bleach to reduce the coliform <br /> content prior to disposal. Initially, approximately 10 gallons of bleach was added to <br /> approximately 750 gallons of sludge/rinseate. Subsequent laboratory analyses did not achieve <br /> the results required for proper disposal, so additional water and chlorine bleach was added. A <br /> total of 56 gallons of chlorine bleach was added to the diluted contents (approximately 1,600 <br /> gallons). The pH level was checked on the site with a handheld pH meter. The pH was observed <br /> below 9.5. <br /> The laboratory data sheets are attached to this report. <br /> In accordance with waste hauling protocols, the tank contents were transferred via tanker truck to <br /> the Clean-Harbors waste facility under manifest. The waste manifest is attached to this report. <br /> Additionally, the former tank was hauled off site for similar disposal. The manifest for the <br /> disposal of the tank is also attached. <br /> CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS <br /> Based on the results reported from the soil sampling activities conducted along the leach line and <br /> from beneath the former septic tank at the site, it appears that no appreciable impacts to the soils <br /> have been determined to have occurred in reference to the suite of laboratory analyses performed. <br /> Groundwater analyses was not required or performed due to the low concentrations of analytes <br /> found in the soil samples and based on the proximity of groundwater to the site. The <br /> concentrations of metals detected for instance, may be considered naturally occurring background <br /> concentrations in soil for the Stockton area. The detected concentrations of TPH-d are very low, <br /> and may be attributable to organic matter in the soil profile. There are no PRGs for TPH-d <br /> although concentrations below 100 ppm or mg/kg usually do not require further action. The <br /> State RWQCB has established 100 mg/kg in soil as concentration to prioritize case loads and to <br /> aid in determining if a significant release had occurred. <br /> The former tank contents have been characterized in accordance with the laboratory analyses <br /> listed above and listed in the attached table. All of the detected concentrations of analytes which <br /> have applicable PRGs were well below the recommended concentrations. The disposal of the <br /> former tank and tank contents has been facilitated by ECO-SAFE and Clean Harbors landfill. <br /> Under manifest, the material were transported to the Clean Harbors, Environmental Service, Iiic. <br /> 34202.E01 /ST03R1609 Page 5 of 7 <br /> Copyright 2003 Kleinfelder,Inc.
