This
proposal was developed based upon our current understanding of site conditions and
correspondence. This proposal is a preliminary understanding of Fresno Oxygens desires.
Kleinfelder is committed to providing quality service to our clients, commensurate with their
wants, needs and desired level of risk. The property had previously been owned or operated
by US Rentals_ The assessment was requested as a recommended step from the San Joaquin
County Environmental Health Department (EHD). It appeared that EHD had concerns that the
septic system on site had received waste water generated from storm runoff and/or steam
cleaning activities conducted by the former property owners/occupants. A site visit has revealed
that the septic tank appears to not be serviceable any longer a-ad has been paved over with
asphalt.
EHD had expressed interest in investigating the soils from near and beneath the septic tank and
the seepage pit. Information gathered from the permit to construct the septic system at the site in
1970 reveals that the septic system was constructed with a single precast concrete 1,200 gallon
tank, and 90 foot long leach line leading to a 25 .foot deep, 33 inch diameter gravel packed
seepage pit. Additionally, EHD will require that the septic system be evaluated and returned to a
serviceable status by excavating the top of the tank and re-establishing a service port.
SCOPE OF WORK
Permitting and Pre-Field Activities
Kleinfelder will coordinate with EHD to obtain necessary boring permits prior to conducting
field work. The San Joaquin County EHD may require review and approval of the workplan for
02001PROP_ENV/ST03P162 Page i of 6
CopyrighE 2003,Kleinfelder,Inc. May 5,2003
