In addition, the maximum amount of bentonite to be
added to the cement grout is 5 percent.
The soil samples that are to be analyzed for Total Lead should also be subjected to the Waste Extraction
Test if the level of Total Lead is 13 parts per million or greater. Deionized water should be used as the
extraction solution for this test in lieu of the acid extraction solution. This procedure would yield results
more indicative of the amount of soluble lead under normal site conditions.
A site specific "Health and Safety Plan" prepared by Park Environmental, should be submitted to this
office. A permit application and the associated $89.00 fee also are to be submitted. The permit must be
approved prior to scheduling work at the site.
Please submit the above mentioned items by June 29, 1992.
If you have any questions please contact Linda Turkatte, REHS, of my staff at (209) 468-0339.
Jogi Khanna, M.D., M.P.H.
ealth Of r
Laurie A Cotul a, REHS rogram Manager
Environmental Health Di Sion
LAC/LT:lb
c: Beth Thayer-CVRWQCB
c: Ed Furu-Park Environmental
5100 E.
