Turkatte : 14 <br /> Per your request USA Petroleum has begun quarterly ground water <br /> sampling of the subject site . The purpose of this letter is to <br /> inform you of USA ' s progress in fulfilling your request . <br /> USA hired a local consultant to sample the wells , arrange for <br /> appropriate analyses , and prepare a report of the findings . Our <br /> consultant began work by performing a field survey of the physical <br /> condition of each well . At this time each well was sounded to <br /> determine the depth to water. <br /> Unfortunately, every well on the site was dry. The sounded depth <br /> of the wells indicated the wells did not contain appreciable <br /> amounts of sand or silt . USA can only surmise that the water table <br /> has declined significantly since the wells were installed . This <br /> is no doubt associated with the California ' s current drought <br /> situation . <br /> As a result of this finding USA will be unable to provide the <br /> quarterly monitoring report which you requested . USA will <br /> periodically check the wells during the coming rainy season for <br /> water .
