REE ® <br /> Doc#: Title: Date Created: <br /> Hazcom-002 Hazardous Materials Business Plan 12/5/16 <br /> Rev#: Prepared By: MENTAtHE a e Revised: <br /> A David Gonzales DEPARTMENT 12/5/16 <br /> Purpose and Scope <br /> This document establishes the procedure for Farmington Fresh Hazardous Materials Business Plan, the <br /> business plan.This document contributes to a safe workplace by providing hazard information for employees <br /> routinely exposed to hazardous substances and harmful physical agents in the workplace.This information is <br /> provided through training,labeling,and information resources. <br /> Responsibilities—Communication <br /> 1. All Farmington Fresh employees are responsible for working safely, utilizing appropriate personal <br /> protective equipment,following documented procedures,and reporting unsafe conditions. <br /> 2. The safety committee or their designates shall be responsible for: <br /> 2.1. Determining which Farmington Fresh employees are subject to the right-to-know(RTK)standard. <br /> 2.2.Ensuring current Material Safety Data Sheets(MSDS)is available as needed. <br /> 2.3.Performing an annual hazardous material inventory. <br /> 3. Department Managers,Supervisors(and equivalent) are responsible for informing the safety <br /> committee or their designates of new hazards. <br /> 3.1.Providing employees with any needed safety equipment and as safe a work environment as <br /> possible. <br /> 3.2.Responding to any employee's concern for hazard information and/or refusal to work. <br /> 3.3.Registering new or assigned employees that need training so that is can be provided before <br /> employees begin any potentially hazardous duties. <br /> 3.4.Ensuring that employees are following safety precautions and procedures. <br /> 3.5.Ensuring that chemical containers in the department are properly labeled,stored, handled and <br /> disposed. <br /> -Emergency-Resuonse-Recluirementz. <br /> The Emergency Coordinator or the Emergency Coordinator Designee(s) must respond to any <br /> emergencies that arise.The response procedure is as follows: <br /> 1. A Contingency Emergency Plan will be posted at the following locations: <br /> 1.1.Front security guard house <br /> 1.2.Farmington Fresh front reception desk <br /> 1.3.Shipping Office <br /> 1.4.Main Maintenance Office at the back of the facility. <br /> 2. In the event of a fire, use fire extinguisher if appropriate or contact the fire department. <br /> 3. In the event of a spill, contain the flow of hazardous waste and any contaminated materials or soil. <br /> 4. For all significant releases,fires,or explosions complete release"Spill or Release Notification Form. <br /> Employee Trainin¢ <br /> Initial Training—Employeeswill be trained perthe General Training Procedure Guidelines. It is the supervisor's <br /> responsibility to sign up new employees for training and ensure attendance. <br /> 1. Pre-assignment training will be given to explain new hazards and safeguards when necessary withjob <br /> assignment changes or when other chemical hazards are added to the employees'existing hazard <br /> potential. <br /> 2. Re-training will be provided to review and update right-to-know training in a refresher class. A <br /> refresher class may be taken if changes have been made on procedures or processes or new chemical <br /> has been brought in the work place. <br />
