Project No. 9688 WORK PLAN June 11, 1999
2373 Mariposa Road Page 2
Scope
This Work Plan is in response to discussions with Mr. Infurna of the EHD.
WDE intends to drill and sample one soil boring down to below first
encountered groundwater. This boring will then be used to obtain a "grab"
groundwater sample for analyses.
The scope of this work plan includes descriptions of:
•Previous Work carried out at the site.
•Required pre-field work activities and permitting.
•Drilling equipment and methods.
•Soil and groundwater sampling equipment and techniques.
:Soil
and groundwater sample handling and transportation.
•Soil boring abandonment.
•Management of soil cuttings, and grab water sample purge
water.
•Sample analyses.
•Data interpretation and reporting procedures.
Site Location and Description
The subject commercial site is located along the south side of Mariposa Road
between Highway 99 and Farmington Road in Stockton, California. Figure 1
attached shows the general site vicinity. Currently the site is occupied with
the Husky Crane Company and is used to store and maintain cranes and
associated supplies and equipment. The two USTs were located along the east
property line about 20 feet south of Mariposa Street.
The site and surrounding area are all essentially level and are at an
approximate elevation of 27 feet Mean Sea Level (MSL). The surrounding
area is rural with several industrial type facilities scattered throughout. There
is an industrial facility directly to the east of the site.
A Site Plan, Figure 2 attached, shows the area of the tank removal excavation,
nearby buildings and property lines. The site plan is based on drawing
developed during previous investigations. A final Site Plan drawn to scale
will be developed during the work carried out in the proposed soil and
groundwater investigation.
Project History
Two underground gasoline storage tank (one 500 gallon and one 1,000 gallon)
were located at the site. Research indicates that the tanks were installed by a
previous tenant of the site at an unknown date. The tanks were removed in
either 1986 or 1987 but the operations were not witnessed by the EHD or any
other regulatory agency.
WILLIAM DUBOVSKY ENVIRONMENTAL
