Project No. 9688 '` WORK PLAN ``w/ June 11, 1999
2373 Mariposa Road Page-3
In 1991 in order to comply with regulations, three samples were taken from
the tank removal excavation and one from soil stockpiled on site. On October
15, 1991, the sampling was carried out under the observation of EHD. The
following table presents the specifics of the October 15, 1991 sampling episode.
All results are in parts per million (PPM).The locations of the three
excavation samples are shown on the attached Figure 2. The reason for the
analyses selected was not discerned.
Sample Location Depth TPH-D TPH-G TPH-MO BTEX LEAD VOC
ID
HC-1N north bottom 14 2,500 100 110 ND/ND/ND/ND 180 ND
of pit
HC-2S south bottom 14 2,500 150 <50 ND/ND/ND/ND 9.9 ND
of pit
HC-3E east 6 230 -- <10 -- -- --
sidewall of
it
HC-1P stock ile I <1000 10 33,000 ND/0.013/ND/0.21
Composite stockpile 1170 ND <10 ND/ND/ND/ND
NOTES: TPH-D total petroleum hydrocarbons as diesel
TPH-G total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline
TPH-MO total petroleum hydrocarbons as motor oil
BTEX benzene/toluene/ethylbenzene/total xylenes
ND Not detected at method limits
-- Not analyzed (reason unknown)
Based on the results of the above sample analyses, EHD required further
work. The next significant work carried out was by Wm. J. Hunter &
Associates during October 1994. The work included drilling- and sampling 6
borings to depths ranging from 35 feet to 50.5 feet. The location of the six
borings are shown on the attached Figure 2. The borings were all sampled at 5
foot intervals. All samples were analyzed for TPH-G and BTEX. However
only the samples from boring F ( the easternmost boring) were analyzed for
TPH-D. Only one sample from boring F was analyzed for lead. A note on the
chain of custody indicated only the sample with the highest TPH-D reading
was to be analyzed for lead. The reason for the other analyses selected was not
discerned.
The following table presents the specifics of the October, 1994 sampling and
drill program. All results are in PPM.
WILLIAM DUBOVSKY ENVIRONMENTAL
