2373 g <br /> Mariposa Road August 16 1999 <br /> P <br /> Project 9688 Page 5 <br /> intervals (N value) was recorded and used to evaluate the consistency of the <br /> sampled soil The California Sampler and brass tubes was cleaned between <br /> samples using soap, TSP, and clear water to prevent cross or down-hole <br /> contamination <br /> As samples were obtained, they were covered with aluminum foil, capped <br /> and sealed with airtight tape The samples were then labeled, and stored in an <br /> cooled ice chest for transportation to the analytical laboratory A Chain-of- <br /> Custody form was initiated by WDE personnel at the time of sampling and <br /> accompanied the samples to the North State Environmental state certified <br /> laboratory using California Department of Health Services approved <br /> methods <br /> All down-hole equipment was steam cleaned prior to arriving on site As soil <br /> cuttings were generated, they were observed and also used to log the soil <br /> conditions Soil cuttings were contained in 55 gallon DOT 17H drums The <br /> final boring log is presented on Figure 4 of Appendix A <br /> After the boring was drilled and the groundwater samples obtained, the drill <br /> hole was backfilled with neat Portland Cement grout using tremae techniques <br /> Soil Sample Analyses <br /> The soil samples were analyzed for the following using the methods <br /> described in the July 5, 1999 Work Pian Addendum <br /> ' *Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons as Gasoline (TPH-G), <br /> *Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons as Diesel (TPH-D), <br /> •Total Extractable Petroleum Hydrocarbons (TEPH), <br /> •Volatile aromatic hydrocarbons Benzene, Toluene Ethylbenzene and <br /> total Xylenes (BTEX), <br /> 1 •Methyl Tertiary Butyl Ether (MTBE), <br /> •Total Lead <br /> Copies of the laboratory reports and Chain-of-Custody forms are attached in <br /> Appendix C The results of the soil sample analyses along with pervious soil <br /> sample results are summarized and discussed in a later section of this report <br /> 1 All volatile analyses were performed by August 6, 1999 The 7 day hold time is <br /> in conformance with the fourteen day maximum hold time for the volatile <br /> analyses Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) details are shown <br /> on the laboratory certificates which are contained in Appendix C <br /> Water Sampling During Drilling <br /> A semi-representative or "Grab" groundwater sample was taken from the <br /> boring Following the advancement of the boring to 70 feet below ground <br /> WILLIAM DUBOVSKY ENVIRONMENTAL <br /> 1 <br />
