GeofogicafTechnks Inc.
2741 River Road
MO&W,Cal forma 95351
(209)538-64241FOX#538-5852
REPORT
Phase II Environmental Site Assessment
SEPTIC TANK INVESTIGATION
Murray Property
7367 E. Mariposa Rd.
Stockton,California
Project.No. 675.2
January 22, 1999
1.0 SCOPE OF THE INVESTIGATION
On behalf of Mr. Murray, Geological Technics Inc. (GTI) has performed an investigation of
the septic tank and leach line as,outlined below on the property located at 7367 E. Mariposa
Rd., Stockton, California. The work was performed on January 11, 1999.
The purpose of this work was to further investigate the septic tank that was located on
December 14, 1998 by GTI during other Phase 11 activities.
The scope of work was as follows:
Septic Tank and Leach Lines
1. The top of the septic tank was first exposed with a backhoe. It turned out that during the
previous investigation the second chamber of the septic tank had been opened and
sampled, not the first chamber as reported in the January 5, 1999 report prepared by GTI.
2. The drain pipe was exposed and followed with the backhoe. The drain pipe was a 4 inch
diameter, red tile material with slip joints. The drain pipe was completely plugged with
the white material from the septic tank.
3. The drain pipe was surrounded with 3-inch'drain rock. The slip joints had leaked and the
drain rock was covered with the same white material that had been .observed inside the
septic tank.
4. 'The drain pipe was followed in a east-southeast direction toward Mariposa Road. As the .
pipe was exposed farther from the septic tank the amount of white material observed on
the drain rock decreased. At approximately 25 to 30 feet from the septic tank there was
no longer white material observed on the drain rock or inside the drain pipe. i
5. The drain pipe was followed to the fence at the edge of the property. A metal fish tape
was then run into the pipe and a magnetometer was used to find the end of the pipe. The
pipe continued about 10 feet past the fence to the location where the fiber optic cables
had beer! installed.-It appears that the drain line was destroyed by the process of installing
the fiber optic cable.
