a
30 October 2002
AGE-NC Project No. 02-0970
scope of work will include the advancement and sampling of one soil boring at the site. The boring
will be advanced near the north west side ofthe dispenser island. The proposed probe boring location
is illustrated in Figure 2. Soil samples will be collected at five-foot intervals starting at five feet
below surface grade (bsg)to a depth of approximately 20 feet bsg.
Selected soil samples will be analyzed by a State of California Department of Health Services
(DHS)-certified laboratory for the following constituents:
• Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g) by EPA Method 8015
Modified;
• Benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and total xylenes (BTEX) and methyl tertiary butyl ether
(MTBE) by EPA Method 8020.
EQUIPMENT DECONTAMINATION
Prior to use, all tools used for sample collection will be thoroughly rinsed with clean water after
being washed with a solution of Alconox. All probing rods will be cleaned prior to advancement at
each probe boring location.
BORING ABANDONMENT
All soil borings will be permanently sealed to prevent vertical migration of potential contaminants.
Soil borings shall be abandoned by backfilling with a portland cement slurry from the total depth to
surface grade. The EHD will be notified for grout inspection at least 72 hours prior to conducting
grouting procedures.
REPORT PREPARATION
Upon completion of field work and receipt of final laboratory analysis, a report will be prepared
presenting the findings of the investigation. The report will include a description of the work
performed and the results of the laboratory analyses. Conclusions, applicable recommendations,
maps and cross-sections will be included in the report, as well as copies of the laboratory reports,
testing methods, laboratory quality assurance/quality control(QA/QC)reports,and sample chain of
custody documentation. The report will be in a format acceptable to the EHD,and will be reviewed
and signed by a California Registered Geologist.
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
