Kennedy/Jenks Consultants <br /> 3 2 3 Geolo is Conditions <br /> Based on document reviews, the subject property is underlain by depositional interbedded <br /> sands, gravels, and clays augmented by fill material Variable amounts of fine grained <br /> ' sands and gravels are present to a depth of approximately 12 to 13 feet In some <br /> locations, the silty clays are interbedded with fine to coarse-grained clayey sands Upper <br /> silty clays are underlain by fine sandy clays and fine to coarse grained gravelly/clayey <br /> ' sands to a depth of approximately 21 to 25 feet <br /> 3 2 4 Groundwater Conditions <br /> Though site-specific data is not available, groundwater investigations at 300 South <br /> California Street (approximately 0 09-mile southwest of the subject property) indicated that <br /> ' the depth to groundwater is approximately 50 feet and the gradient is to the north- <br /> northeast The San Joaquin County Flood Control maps indicate that the area gradient <br /> tends to the east, however, local conditions such as wells, building foundations, tides, etc , <br /> can affect groundwater flow <br /> 33 Historical Use Information <br /> ' Historic land use for the site and adjacent properties was determined through interviews, <br /> review of aenal photographs, city directones, Sanborn Fire Insurance Maps, and Stockton <br /> Building Department files The following information was obtained <br /> 3 3 1 Personal Interviews <br /> Kennedy/Jenks interviewed Mr Sonny Patel, Manager of the Cunningham Hotel, on <br /> ' 4 March 1996 regarding current and past uses of the property at 620-622 Market Street <br /> Mr Patel stated that, to his knowledge, the property has always been a hotel He stated <br /> that while the first floor garage had previously been used for automotive repair, it was <br /> ' currently used for storage of domestic goods and cleaning products (in household sizes) <br /> Mr Patel was not aware of the historic presence of any underground storage tanks <br /> ' Kennedy/Jenks interviewed Mr Tom Miglion, owner of 636 Market Street, on 4 March 1996 <br /> regarding current and past uses of the property Mr Miglion stated that an underground <br /> gasoline tank, associated piping, and concrete dispenser island was previously located at <br /> ' the rear of the property The underground storage tank was removed from the property in <br /> February 1993 Mr Miglion provided a copy of the letter from the San Joaquin Public <br /> Health Services, dated May 5, 1993, that stated the property required no further action <br /> ' Mr Steven Peterson, Director of Administrative Services at The Record, and Mr Jeff <br /> Freitas Real Property Agent for the City of Stockton, provided access and answered <br /> questions regarding the subject property <br /> ' Documentation of current and historical conditions of the site and adjacent properties is <br /> provided in the ASTM Transaction Screen Questionnaire in Appendix B <br /> yob%6%6=4=text doe 9 <br />
