Main Street 209.234.7727 fax
Manteca, California
WKA 3PRO7113
Wallace-Kuhl &Associates, Inc. (WKA) is pleased to provide this work plan to assist in
performing a limited Phase lI subsurface assessment of a former automotive service station
property located in Manteca, California. It is our understanding that the property was previously
used as an automotive service station prior to the 1970s, and is currently a parking lot for a
commercial shopping center. This letter presents our proposed scope of work to assist in the
collection of shallow soil samples from beneath the site as part of an overall assessment of the
property. Below is a summary of our proposed scope of work.
• Prior to conducting proposed field sampling activities, a Health and Safety Plan(HASP)
will be prepared for the site. The HASP is intended to document and provide field
personnel with appropriate safe working measures for known and potential hazards that
may be encountered during field sampling activities.
• Drilling permits will be filed with the San Joaquin County Environmental Health
Department (SJCEHD). WKA will also coordinate with the SJCEHD for grout inspection
after completion of sampling activities.
• A geophysical subcontractor will be used to identify underground utilities in the areas of
proposed boring locations. The utility clearance subcontractor will use magnetic, and/or
other appropriate electronic techniques to identify the presence or absence of
underground storage tanks (USTs) and underground conduits in the proposed boring
locations. Underground Service Alert will also be notified to identify known
underground utilities. Depending on the presence of identified underground utilities,
proposed boring locations may be adjusted accordingly.
