'
ETS ENVIRONMENTAL PROJECT 301
/
3. 0 FINDINGS !
L ^
Based on field observations and laboratory data ETS
LEnvironmental has made the following findings:
1. Soil samples from boring 7 indicate that no gasoline
i
or diesel leakage has occurred in its proximity.
\

~- 2. No hydrocarbon odor was detected at any time during |
the drilling operation and was confirmed by both a
Draeger tube analysis in the field and the '
L laboratory data contained in Appendix B. `
3. Groundwater is in excess of 50 feet in depth bel
ow>
Lthe site. '

4. Lithologic characteristics of the subsurface '
material would tend to enhance contaminant migration /
L both vertically and laterally to a depth ofJ
approximately 30 or 35 feet. However, no
 contaminants are found within
 3 feet laterally from
L boring 6.
L 4. 0 CONCLUSIONS
'
Based upon field work conducted on the site and review
of the laboratory data, ETS has made the following
L conclusions;
1. The underground diesel tank and both underground
L gasoline tanks are believed to be sound at this
time. Evidence for this statement comes from
laboratory data, a precision tank test conducted
during the fall/winter of 1987, and daily inventory
L monitoring of the tanks by sticking.
2. A limited amount of very heavily weathered gasoline
L is present near the surface in the vicinity of boring number 6 below reportable limits.
L
3. Boring 7 is located as close to tank "C" as
practical, drilled on a convergent line with boring
6, and samples from all intervals returned non-
detect values.
L
4. Depth to groundwater in the area is in excess of 50
/ feet. At this time, given the most current lab
 | results, ETS does not feel that the groundwater is
' " threatened by contamination from this site.
^ L
i -
