f <br /> • �( <br /> AFFENLIA B <br /> SITE SAFETY FLAW <br /> ETS Environmental has designed this Site Safety p=lan to avoid <br /> potential dangers to its employees and others while <br /> conducting studies of a potentially nazardous site. This <br /> plan will establish standards for personal protective equip- <br /> ment. safety procedures and contingency plans. <br /> mll personnel on site will nave assigned responsibilities. <br /> The Project Geologist will serve as the site safety officer. <br /> As such. he will be responsible for the safety operations of <br /> all site personnel. All personnel will oe required to <br /> document full understanding of the safety plan. The site <br /> safety officer will monitor personnel safety performance and <br /> correct any work practices that could result in injury or <br /> e;;posure. All on-site employees will take reasonable pre- <br /> cautions so as to avoid any unforeseen hazards. All on-site <br /> Personnel will be responsible to perform only those tasks for <br /> wnicn they are qualified. <br /> Fotential site hazards include those encountered when <br /> operat:ng any equipment and moving macninery. Simple <br /> precautions will reduce or eliminate the risks associated <br /> with the operation of equipment. <br /> A drilling contractor will be employed to deliver .and operate <br /> all drilling equipment. Only qualified personnel will have <br /> contact with this equipment. All on-site personnel will be <br /> required to wear hard hats when in the proximity of the <br /> drilling equipment. Latex or other appropriate sampling <br /> gloves will be used by persons collecting and handling <br /> samples to prevent exposure to contaminants. These gloves <br /> will be changed between samples to avoid cross-contamination. <br /> Access to the work site will be restricted to authorized <br /> personnel only. The work site perimeter will oe no less than <br /> 44 feet from the drilling operation. The project geologist <br /> will oe responsiole for site security. <br /> To prevent ingestion of contaminants. no person will be <br /> allowed to eat or drink on site. A nearby area will be <br /> designated for eating or drinking. Also, this area will be <br /> considered to be the only area where smoking is allowed. <br /> In the e•.ent of an injury, acczaent or otner emergency, the <br /> project geologist will notiiy the aFpropriate individu4I or <br /> agency as quickly as possible. Pvames. addresses and ❑none <br /> numbers cf emergency notification personnel will be kept on <br /> the job site at all times. All incidents will oe logged. <br />
