Managed and conducted hazardous materials site assessments for a large number <br /> of clients involved in real estate transactions. The sites have included wineries <br /> 4.. and vineyards,commercial offices, and semiconductor manufacturers. <br /> _ Managed and conducted asbestos assessments in office buildings and <br /> manufacturing facilities. The work included assessing the risk of asbestos <br /> exposure with continued use of the property and estimating removal and/or <br /> maintenance costs. <br /> Project Manager for remediation of an 11 acre mixed waste landfill at Lawrence <br /> Livermore National Laboratory(LLNL). This project involved identification, <br /> removal,and closure of an uncontrolled landfill containing PCBs,heavy metals, <br /> V <br /> resins,volatile organics,radioactive waste, and explosives. <br /> Supervised handling and disposal of hazardous chemicals at LLNL. Provided <br /> technical support to laboratory programs in complying with standards and <br /> regulations. Responsible for emergency response where hazardous chemicals <br /> were involved. Managed development of RCRA Part B application. <br /> Served on special Santa Clara County committee to write statuses for safe <br /> storage of hazardous chemicals in underground storage tanks. Contributed to <br /> the construction and monitoring/testing portions of Santa Clara County statute <br /> that serves as a model for state and federal regulations. <br /> *• Project Manager for development of RCRA permit applications for hazardous <br /> waste storage and treatment facilities. Conducted health and safety training for <br /> safe handling and storage of hazardous chemicals. <br /> Construction Manager for a wastewater collection system for the National Park <br /> Service facility at Alcatraz,Northern California. <br /> Modeling and design of wastewater treatment system for sugar mills in Puerto <br /> Rico. This project included redesigning wastewater outfalls at two sugar mills. <br /> Conducted health and safety training for safe handling and storage of hazardous <br /> chemicals. <br /> Managed wastewater control projects in California, Arizona, and Hawaii. <br /> Reviewed design plans and specifications and evaluated all technical drawings <br /> �. and specifications for conformance with current sanitary engineering principles. <br /> Served with the Federal Emergency Management Agency in field investigation <br /> and cost estimation of flood-damaged wastewater treatment facilities.
