May 4, 1993 Project No. EK-6032-2
' Document No. 9305-4002.RPT
Similarly, the soil samples that were collected from the three borings located along the southern
property boundary, adjacent to Quintero's Auto Dismantling, yielded results of not detected above
' the stated reporting limit.
' However, some of the soil samples collected from the two borings located adjacent to the 10,000
gallon underground diesel fuel tank located at Thorsen Trucking, Inc. were analyzed to contain
detectable levels of TPHG. The 5 foot composite sample and the 15 and 20 foot samples from the
apparent up gradient boring yielded results of 1.9 mg/kg, 280 mg/kg and 160 mg/kg respectively.
The remaining samples were reported as not detected. The shallow surface soil composite sample
' that was collected in this area was reported at 3.7 mg/kg of TPHD.
' Each of the three composite samples that were collected from the vacant parcels and analyzed for
organochlorine pesticides and PCB's were reported as not detected above the stated reporting limit.
' Water 5 amMu
The water samples that were collected from the boring located adjacent to Bloom's Auto Wrecking
' were analyzed to contain 670 ug/I, of TPHD and 6.2 mg/L of oil and grease. TPHG and BTEX
were not detected in these samples.
The water samples that were collected from the boring located adjacent to Quintero's Auto
' Dismantling were analyzed to contain 480 ug/L of TPHD and 23 mg/1-of oil and grease. Again,
TPHG and BTEX were not detected.
Finally, the water sample that was collected from the boring located adjacent to the underground
fuel tank at Thorsen Trucking, Inc. was analyzed to contain 300 ug/1.of TPHD.
1
CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
' According to guidelines established by the San Joaquin County Public Health Services,
Environmental Health Division and laboratory results of Hydropunch groundwater samples
' collected during this assessment, it appears that the groundwater beneath the subject property
contains TPHD and or oil and grease at concentrations which will require the establishment of at
' least three monitoring wells on site. The monitoring wells will assist in determining the
groundwater flow direction and gradient in addition to providing more precise laboratory analysis
6
