' • One-inch-diameter Schedule 80 pipe shall be used for individual sparge well conveyance pipe runs.
No 90'angles shall be used in connecting the individual ozone-sparge well lateral conveyance pipe
runs to the 2-inch lateral header conveyance lines.
• One-inch-diameter Schedule 80 flush-threaded PVC casing equipped with Vitono O-rings shall be
used as individual injection line risers. Each wellhead shall be equipped with a threaded
' compression tube and pipe connector for hook up to the ozone/air injection tubing.
• A 3/g-inch-diameter Teflon'.tubing shall be used to connect each ozone—sparge well to the ozone
' system manifold. To the extent possible, continuous lengths of tubing shall be used from the
manifold to the well. No 90' angles are to be used in the conveyance piping so as to not pinch off
the injection tubing.
' • Tracer wire shall be placed in each newly installed trench for the purpose of locating non-metallic
piping networks installed in trenches.
' Trench and aboveground piping details are shown on Figure 7, Compound Layout/Trench Detail.
Electrical System
' The electrical system for the ozone system control panel has been previously installed. The new
exposed conduit run from the electrical subpanel to the system control panel shall have an inside
diameter not smaller than 3/a-inch-diameter and be rigid, galvanized steel or code-approved PVC
conduit.
Any empty conduit systems shall consist of conduits, junction boxes, plates, identification tags, fittings,
' and support devices and shall be free from debris prior to final acceptance of the work.
Sampling Protocol
' Prior to start-up of the ozone system, TPHg, BTEX, dissolved oxygen (DO) and hexavalent chromium
(CrVl) levels will be established for the ozone-sparge well field. TPHg and BTEX concentrations for
onsite wells MW-1, MW-2, MW-3, GWX-1 and VX-1 will be established prior to ozone system start-
up by using the most recent groundwater analysis results for these constituents. Analyses for CrVI will
also be included for each of these wells. The samples will be analyzed for TPHg and BTEX following
the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Test Method 8260B and for CrVI by EPA
Method 7199. DO measurements will be recorded during the groundwater sampling event for each site-
related monitoring well using a handheld instrument(Hanna 9143 or equivalent).
' Following start-up of the ozone system, the system performance will be monitored every week for the
first month, every two weeks for the next two months and once a month thereafter.
1 REPORT OF FINDINGS
A Groundwater Remediation System Installation Report will be prepared following installation and
start-up testing of the ozone system. The report will include(but not be limited to)the following:
' Project description
Introduction
Investigative methods
Field observations
' Project No.59183-06-02 -7- November 11,2009
