HEALTH <br /> P O Box 5155 PERMIT/SERYI6e§ <br /> San Ramon, California 94583 <br /> Attn Mr Keith Bullock <br /> Re TANK REMOVAL OBSERVATION REPORT <br /> Former UNOCAL Service Station No 0187 <br /> 437 East Miner Avenue <br /> Stockton, California <br /> Mr Bullock <br /> �) This report summarizes the field activities performed by GeoStrategies Inc <br /> (GSI) at the above referenced site during the removal of the underground <br /> storage tanks (USTs) performed between January 7 and May 14, 1992 (Plate 1) <br /> The scope of work presented in this document was performed at the request of <br /> UNOCAL Corporation (UNOCAL) Construction activities at the site were <br /> performed by Gettler-Ryan Inc (G-R) of Hayward, California A GSI geologist <br /> was present on-site to observe the removal of the USTs and to collect soil <br /> samples from the UST excavation, piping trenches, hydraulic lift excavations, <br /> oil-water separator and soil stockpiles Field work presented in this report was <br /> performed to comply with State of California Regional Water Quality Control <br /> Board and local agency guidelines <br /> SITE DESCRIPTION <br /> The site was formerly occupied by a UNOCAL Service Station and is now <br /> vacant The UST complex was located south of the station building (Plate 2) <br /> Three single-wall steel storage tanks were removed on January 7, 1992 One <br /> 10,000-gallon tank contained super unleaded gasoline, one 10,000-gallon tank <br /> contained regular unleaded gasoline and one 280-gallon tank contained waste oil <br /> One unknown, single-wall steel 130-gallon waste oil tank was removed May 6, <br /> 1992 after being discovered on March 2, 1992 Tank removals were witnessed <br /> by representatives from the Stockton Fire Department (SFD) and San Joaquin <br /> County Public Health Services (SJCPHS) <br /> 782701-I <br /> 2140 WEST WINTON AVENUE • HAYWARD, CALIFORNIA 94545 • (510) 352-4800 <br /> 601 UNIVERSITY AVENUE • SUITE 150 • SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA 95825 0 (916) 568-7500 <br />
