Gabriel Gonzalez [EH]
From: Gabriel Gonzalez [EH]
Sent: Tuesday, September 30, 2014 4:20 PM
To: Adrienne Ellsaesser[EH]
Cc: John Yoakum [EH]
Subject: FW:437 E Miner Ave., Stockton
Hi Adrienne,
The plan to destroy the%inch and 1 inch wells is below. What are your thoughts on this-is this acceptable?
Gabe
From: McGovern, Cameron [mailto:Cameron.McGovern(c arcadis-us.com]
Sent: Tuesday, September 30, 2014 12:50 PM
To: Gabriel Gonzalez [EH]
Cc: BWaite(abchevron.com; mcmillans52l%ahoo.com; Munn,Julie; Sobieraj, Justin
Subject: 437 E Miner Ave., Stockton
Hey Gabriel,
The plan for tomorrow is to initially destroy a %inch well (SP-2A [120 ft.]) by the procedure outlined below:
1. 50 grain det cord will be placed in SP-2A from 20 feet below ground surface to total depth (120 ft.)as outlined in
the blasting plans.
2. Once the det cord is set, Cascade will insert the''/: inch poly tubing to TD in order to tremie grout through the
water column and grout from the bottom of the well up to surface.
3. Once grout has reached the surface, the tremie tubing will be extracted from the well and the well will be
topped off with additional grout(as necessary).
4. The charge will then be detonated and Cascade will add grout,as needed.
a. If Cascade is unable to extract the tremie tubing, the 50 grain det cord should adequately destroy the
materials within the well casing as well as successfully perforate the well casing.
If we are successful in destroying SP-2A in this manner, in concurrence with SJCEHD Inspector,ARCADIS proposes to
destroy all remaining W and 1" wells on-site in the same manner outlined above.
Please let me know if this method is acceptable to the SJCEHD.
Thank you,
Cameron
--------------------
From: Gabriel Gonzalez [EH] [mailto:gagonzalezftcehd.coml
Sent: Tuesday, September 30, 2014 8:43 AM
To: McGovern, Cameron; BWaiteachevron.com; mcmillans521(5)vahoo.com
Subject: 437 E Miner Ave., Stockton
Good morning,
I spoke with Adrienne about the idea of using nylon tubing as a tremie to grout wells, from the bottom up,with casing
diameters of inch and 1 inch. She believes there's a good chance the tubing will get stuck in place during grouting, and
1
