• Well Installation Report - Former Unocal Service Station No 0187
October 21, 1997
Soil Chemical Analytical Results
TPHg or BTEX compounds were not detected in the three soil samples analyzed from
boring U-9 Stockpile sample SPI A-D did not contain detectable concentrations of TPHg,
BTEX, or lead.
Groundwater Chemical Analytical Results
Toluene, xylene or MTBE were not detected in the groundwater sample collected from
well U-9 TPHg (990 parts per billion, or ppb), benzene (130 ppb), and ethylbenzene (30
ppb) were detected in this sample Petroleum hydrocarbons were not detected in the trip
blank.
WASTE DISPOSAL
Waste water generated during the well development procedures was placed in a properly
Iabeled drum and stored at the site On September 19, 1997, Crosby & Overton Inc
removed the drum and approximately 46 gallons of waste water On September 25, 1997,
. Manley Trucking of Sacramento, transported approximately 1 cubic yard of stockpiled drill
cuttings to Forward Landfill in Stockton, California for disposal Crosby & Overton and
Manley Trucking disposal confirmation sheets are presented in Appendix F
i
WELL SEARCH
On May 30, 1997, GSI conducted a search of Department of Water Resources files in
Sacramento, California for domestic or municipal supply wells located within a 0 5-mile
radius of the subject site Twelve sites with wells were identified within the search area.
Six sites indentified contain domestic supply wells, while four sites were identified with
municipal supply wells The location of the subject site and the well sites identified within
the 0 5 mile radius are plotted on Figure 1 WeII search data is summarized in Table 3.
DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSIONS
Soil in the vicinity of well U-9 is not impacted by petroleum hydrocarbons Detection of
petroleum hydrocarbons in the groundwater sample from well U--9 indicates that the
dissolved plume is not delineated northeast of the site Additional investigation of
groundwater conditions may be required to delineate the dissolved plume
IIS
482721-2 6
